While it's only symbolism, that matters. Hopefully, it will start a real policy shift within the GOP to stop posturing about traditional values and live them out and fight for them.
Boycott over gay rights group
Perhaps this issue can go the way of gun rights for Democrats. Where gun control (which I support) was once a front burner litmus test issue. Now, many Democrats support gun rights, and the party's zeal for the issue is muted.
All is not lost. Democrats can be the party of traditional values and against gay rights.
The Republicans can help us out by standing firm. For once.
