Israel should establish peace through force

Israel continues bommbing of Gaza

GAZAIsrael pressed on with its 12-day bombardment of the Gaza Strip on Wednesday , but it allowed a brief suspension to permit humanitarian aid to reach the beleaguered population and agreed to future brief halts, while the Israeli security cabinet postponed a vote authorizing a further stage of the ground operation.

All leaders should strive to do the right thing for their country and then for the world. Must civilized people want peace in the Middle East, and the only way to attain that is through military force. Israel's government should unilaterally establish a peaceful situation that is as fair as possible to the peace-loving muslims in the region. They then should sit down and try to mitigate the damage. There will be critics, and perhaps there's no solution that can be negotiated, but the leaders of Israel should be determined to promote peace, and sadly that means war to kill or neutralize the evil people in Gaza and elsewhere.

Good Muslims, whether individuals or countries need to stand with the United States, Israel, and other forward looking people against terrorism and violence. They must abandon their ambivalence and sometimes countenance of the Islamic extremists.

The Obama administration should learn from the decades struggle in the middle east: Think through the consequences of your policies and be sure what you are doing is what you want to be done 1, 5, or 10 years from now. Accept reality, and try to change it , rather than denying essential facts. For too long we have avoided dealing with these extremists for fear of public re-criminations, hopefully this will end and we can become truly dedicated to peace.
