Who's telling the truth: Jim Gray or Corey Pavin?

Jim Gray is telling the truth that Corey Pavin told him that he is going to offer Tiger Woods a spot on the Ryder Cup team. Jim Gray is a professional. Though I generally don't like his work, I do respect his integrity. Corey Pavin has been quoted by others as saying things very close to guaranteeing Woods on the team. It makes more sense that he had a gaffe or made a mis-statement and is now trying to retract it. He should be honest though, rather than trying to attack Gray's work.
