Better candidates usually win

Lisa Murkowski and Joe Miller are in a tight race for the Republican Senate nomination in Alsaka. Joe Miller is the rising Tea Party candidate, a so-called "constitutional conservative" who was endorsed by Sarah Palin.

If he wins, pundits will surely make sweeping statements about the Tea Party, Sarah Palin, and the mood of the electorate.

But just look at this debate video, and it's clear Miller is demonstrably a better candidate than the incumbent senator. He is clear, he's organized, he's aggressive, he's courteous. He's on offense. He is a winner.

So even if Murkowski pulls this out, Miller was the better candidate and in Alaska deserved to win.
