Why Unions are actually needed

We need Unions as shields against abusive behavior of workers. An example of this is Shirley Sherrod who was fired unjustly for (black) racist behavior.

Oftentimes I speak out against Unions because they go on the offensive and try to get benefits either not deserved or more than is justified by the facts. Unions have taken to protecting bad teachers, lazy workers, and trying to force economic packages on Companies that aren't economically sustainable.

But a Union works best as a protection against bad behavior and not as an indepedent force in the work-place.

Had this lady been guaranteed due-process and a hearing, she would never have been fired.
