Give Obama credit for Roger Simon interview

President Obama sat down with Roger Simon of Politico. He is coming back from a dreadful healthcare situation. It is a testament to the President's compassion that he affords Simon a fantastic opportunity upon his return.

In the interview, the President is right about the hypocricy of critics concerning the oil spill. Many Democrats and most Republicans are skeptical of too much government. They should take responsibility for their outlook.

I personally have to admit I was wrong. I always assumed that American technology would solve any environmental problem. That clearly is wrong. Especially with the special interests working to weaken regulations and cut corners, we need a strong (reasonable) government that protects our long-term interests.

The President is doing a good job of balancing public relations, problem solving, and politics.
