Get a commitment from Governor Crist that should he win he'd caucus with the Democrats as an indepedent in the mold of a Joe Lieberman. Charlie Crist's advisors seem to hint at an independent bid, so this is possible. I like Rep. Kendrick Meek, and there is a scenario where he could win in November but it is really unlikely in the 2010 environment. Meek needs some Obama magic, similar in 2006 when every surprise seemed to boost the aspiring Senator's campaign.
But politics is about making the tough choices with incomplete information. As a party we should be bold. Invite Crist into the fold, give Meek a position in the administration, and show the American people we welcome all people willing to work together.
