Bernard Kerik deserves better

Bernard Kerik is pleading guilty to a number of charges. They are not serious.
You or I would not be in danger if Mr. Kerik knocked on your door. His crimes are tax related and questions of honesty.

We need to distinguish between crime that is dangerous and dumb. Sometimes people are dishonest and demonstrate bad judgement. That is dumb but shouldn't send him to jail.

Kerik should be fined, sentenced to real community service, and sent on his way.
