I like and respect Senator Chuck Schumer. But his contortion of political labels and reality has gone too far. He just stated on FoxNews that unlike President Bush with his nomination of Roberts and Alito (from the far right), Obama hasn't picked an extreme judge from the far left.
Yet, Sonia SotoMayor is absolutely from the far left. I would still support her because her story is an American dream. Scalia is a right wing extremist in many ways, and Ms. Sotomayor will be a left wing extremists in many ways. I hope in the future Obama picks a more moderate judge who can balance the court out in the future.
