Iowa legislators should repeal all marriage laws rather than allow the institution to be bastardized. This is an extreme but practical way to respond to a tyrannical Supreme Court. In the mean-time supporters of traditional marriage should demand that the legislature do whatever is necessary to allow a Constiutional Amendment go before the people.
Those of us who support traditioinal marriage need to go on offense in many ways.
First we should strengthen marriage by making divorce tougher.
We should also look at the financial incentives to get and stay married.
Life is difficult and the institution of marriage clearly helps.
Yet, for more than a generation we've had Hollywood, and various activists attacking the institution piecemeal.
Now is the time to invest in keeping America the greatest country on earth.
Part of that is producing a stable civil society.
