Pollsters avoiding accountability

The special election in NY's 20th Congressional District is another chance for different polling organizations to demonstrate their proficiency.

Yet once again there aren't any polls with the polling dates from yesterday.

This reminds me of the 2008 New Hampshire Democratic Primary.

With all that rode on that result, we had media working off of "old polls" and setting up a Hillary loss when the dynamics were changing. That media spin almost cost Hillary a chance, and subsequently almost set up Obama for a gigantic fall. The media should be more responsible.

This allows for ambiguity and less accountability.

Media organizations should demand that at least once awhile pollster "put up or shut up".

They don't have to get every race right but they should be consistent and accurate.

Otherwise they don't deserve the attention.
