No to Washington D.C. representation

I am against the move to give Washington D.C. a vote in the House of Representatives without changing the Constitution.

I think the District should be added either to Maryland's or Virginia's population for Congressional representational purposes.

Otherwise change the Constitution through an amendment. We ignore enough of the Constitution already, but to do so for a clearly political purpose is wrong and a dangerous precedent.

The reality is the states aren't going to pass the amendment and we Democrats have to accept that.

I abhor the tone of the comments about this subject as though someone is doing something wrong to citizens in D.C., especially the racial overtones. It is unacceptable. We are better than that.

Every American is free to live in any of the 50 states that have voting rights, rather than one District that has never had voting rights.

I would be for extending voting rights in the proper way, which would be by changing the Constitution.
