Minn Senate: 2 straight unusual election cycles

2002 Senator Wellstone and family die in on Campaign trail

2008 Senate Contenders separated by less than 300 votes

I really respected Senator Wellstone and regretted the tone at the memorial. The backlash from that negative partisan tone by democrats towards Republicans led to Coleman's election. Now six years later, Coleman was so weak that a person who is not Senatorial in his deameanor, Al Franken, has fought him to a standstill. I'm shocked that Franken came this close, I thought Coleman would win by at least 2 to 3 points.

Now, based on all the data, I predict Coleman will win again. Everything has pretty much gone the Republican way since election day. It is just like a sporting event when the momentum has dissipated away from the Dems after the contest has been decided. This is "garbage" time where Republicans are trying hard to make the final score look more respectful.
