Too many polls

There is a poll out tonight that says 57% of Americans agree with the idea of having Hillary Clinton in the Secretary of State position.

We should not pay any attention to these polls as a matter of policy.

After the election, the main job of officials is to be leaders. To do what they honestly think is right and what is possible within the political realm.

There are some things so gigantic that public opinion must be taken into account. But this should really only be done as matter of figuring out the best way to pursue the right course, rather than trying to following public opinion.

So even if the public disagreed, I think President-elect Obama should choose Hillary to be in the cabinet.
