Obama will win election but McCain won debate

Contrary to most of the post debate polls, I think John McCain clearly won last night's debate. McCain was on offense on every topic. McCain personally attacked Obama on his gaffes' from the past year. He hammered on his chosen themes consistently. McCain wanted the voters to know Obama was naive, stubborn in his ideology, and not ready for President.

In addition, McCain had a clearer and simpler message to communicate: less taxes, less spending, strong defense, win in Iraq. Barack Obama like many democrats of the past has a more verbose style, and a more nuanced agenda. He must begin to speak more clearly in terms of policy.

However,

Obama did show that he could be President, even though from last night's debate, McCain might have shown he'd be a better leader.

For those who wonder if Obama can be trusted as Commander in Chief, Obama did a credible job. If that is all that was needed, then perhaps I am wrong.

I'm scoring this debate on its' own terms in a vaccuum.
Advantage McCain.
