Alex Rodriguez should stay married

The Yankee star should try to save his marriage.
Notwithstanding the rumors of an affair with Madonna

We need to think about what is best both for Alex, his wife Cynthia, and their children. It is easy to say that the children should come first. But even if their relationship was childless, we should cherish the notion of a good stable marriage. It helps each individual, they can be role models for children, and it is the right thing to do.

Those of us inclined to believe in the beauty, strength, and goodness of America should use our wits to continually build and replenish our foundation. An important part of that is a strong nuclear family.

While government shouldn't be involved too much in personal relationships, we the people through our government should review the marriage benefits in the tax code and other public benefits granted to ensure that those who wrecklessly get divorced or otherwise don't take their marriage as serious as we take in public policy, to make sure we aren't encouraging this deviant behavior, and in fact are discouraging it.
