republican intellectual dishonesty

While Republicans are right to oppose gays in the military. It is bad policy and not good to advocate polling the military is to whether they agree with the proposed repeal of
"Don't ask don't tell".

On any other issue the Republicans would realize you don't poll the military on policy matters. Our armed forces needs to be a top down structure that responds to authority and not opinion polls.

I'm confident they know this, but being Republicans they often make dishonest and bad arguments that can hurt the country in the long run.
