There are hundreds are muslims who were killed in the 9/11 tragedy. So when we are talking about the "sensitivities" of the victims they are 100% apart of the group. When means that there isn't one position. There Republicans and Democrats, left wing and right wing, black and white, jew and gentile, muslims and christians, etc.
As long as the comunity center is a positive force it should be built wherever legal.
We can't make good public policy based on the whims of bullies.
It's interesting that none of the other buildings in the area that don't promote respect for the victims of 9/11 haven't been attacked. That's because the furor is all politics.
While some people may be sincere, the Republican strategists are demagogues and should be ashamed.
I've said the same thing in the past about my own side. Like when the NAACP did an ad in Texas concerning the death of James Byrd that was offensive towards then President Bush.
Our politics need to be honest.
