I keep hearing the political update about the Republican prospects improving for taking over the Senate in 2010 election.

Where are the so what essays?

Republicans won't get 60 votes. So they can't really pass anything meaningful.
If they did, they would need a Republican House of Representatives.

And after that, President Obama would be there to veto.

So a Republican Senate would be good for what, blocking Obama's agenda?

There doing that right now.

The only way Republicans taking over the Senate really matters, is if Democrats actually pass legislation this year, that wouldn't make it through a Republican Senate.
