A worse scenario

We often hear about how someone should have handled their emotions better. Yet, it seems often no matter what their is withering criticism. We should change that to promote more civil disagreements rather than violent blowups.

Take NY Giants' star defensive end Osi Umenyiora who left camp after a disagreement with on of the coaches.

He is by all accounts a very responsible person. Yet he is being heavily criticized as unprofessional.

But what if he was so angry that leaving was his best option?

It surely isn't better to be violent or openly show disrespect.

Especially when the person otherwise has good character we need to celebrate when bad things don't happen and in fact a bad situation is averted.

We can't wait around for something truly tragic and then wonder why someone didn't just walk away.

If we want people to walk away from bad situations, then when they do we should cut them some slack.
