Obama wrong about college football playoff

President-elect Obama has said that he hasn't met a college football fan who is against his plan for a playoff system.

If that's true, that is a said reflection of his lack of friends. But more likely it means that the President-elect may be a closed minded, because there are many good reasons to be against a playoff system.

I will detail the good reasons to be against a playoff, it's hard to believe that no one the President-elect knows believes one of the following:

1. The bowl system is great as it is and gives many teams a rightful claim to have ended their season successfully reaching their goals.

2. The current set-up allows for months of interesting speculation and added attention that actually helps the sport.

3. The current BCS system makes many more games relevant and "must-win", whereas in a playoff the goal would be to get to the top 8.

The important part for me is that everyone accept that others may differ and might either be correct or at least have a valuable perspective. On this small issue, Obama seems to be really closed minded. I hope it's not a trend.
