Today's most important Poll number!

Americans support the current drinking age!

52 % think alcohol drinking age should remain at 21
31% think drinking age should be lowered to 18

Unfortunately the American people have this one wrong. We need a clear and consistent dividing line between adult and childhood. For many/most instances it is 18. Therefore we should move everything good/bad to that age. Were there a draft, men (and hopefully women) would be selected at 18. It is generally understood that 18 is the age of the majority. Young people are capable of making just as good or poor decisions as older people so we should give them good incentives to act their age as soon as possible. If they commit a horrible crime at 18 we treat them as an adult criminal. Which implies we assume they were old enough to understand the implications of their actions. If we make an assumption to their detriment, it is moral to do so to their benefit.
