In the latest South Carolina Poll:
Barack Obama has a 13 point lead on Hillary Clinton. What's of interest is that the African American vote splits:
obama 68
clinton 19
Edwards 4
Its' clear that African Americans are supporting obama BECAUSE he is black. This is racial politics at its' worst. How can people credibly argue that whites shouldn't be focused on race when blacks clearly are. As the race gets closer, if this racial disparity persists, I expect a surge for Clinton and an Edwards fade. Part of it will be due to a racial backlash. I would abhor it but honestly it is only fair.
